The Pacific Community (SPC)
The Pacific Community (SPC) is the principal scientific and technical development organisation supporting Pacific Island countries and territories to achieve sustainable development and resilience outcomes.
Established in 1947, SPC works across the Pacific region by providing scientific expertise, technical assistance, data, research, capacity building, and policy support to governments and development partners. It supports Pacific countries in addressing critical challenges including climate change, disaster risk reduction, natural resource management, health, agriculture, fisheries, infrastructure resilience, and sustainable economic development.

The Rural Airstrip Rehabilitation & Maintenance Programme supports the restoration, upgrading, and ongoing maintenance of rural airstrips across Papua New Guinea to improve aviation safety, strengthen connectivity, and provide remote communities with access to essential services.The programme focuses on reopening closed or degraded airstrips, maintaining operational airstrips, and improving access to health, education, government services, humanitarian assistance, and economic opportunities for isolated communities.

The Papua LNG Project is a world-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) development led by TotalEnergies EP PNG Limited, focused on developing the Elk and Antelope gas fields in the Gulf Province of Papua New Guinea.
The integrated LNG project aims to develop upstream gas resources, processing facilities, pipelines, and LNG export infrastructure to support PNG’s energy sector, economic growth, local employment, and community development. The project is designed to produce approximately 5.6 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of LNG through new LNG trains integrated with existing PNG LNG infrastructure at Caution Bay.
As part of the project, contributed to the Land Investigation Exercise, supporting the identification and verification of legitimate landowners along the proposed pipeline corridor from PRL 15 to Orokolo Bay. The work involved collecting, analysing, and mapping land ownership information within the 5 km pipeline study area to support landowner identification, stakeholder engagement, and project planning.

Project: Kila Kila 66/11kV Substation & 66kV Transmission Lines

The Kila Kila Substation and Transmission Lines Project was a major power infrastructure upgrade under the Port Moresby Power Grid Development Project, aimed at improving electricity supply reliability and strengthening the city’s transmission network.
The project involved the development of a 66/11kV substation and approximately 6.1 km of 66kV double-circuit overhead transmission lines connecting the Kila Kila Substation to the existing Port Moresby transmission network. The facility included high-voltage switching equipment, 66kV transmission infrastructure, and 11kV distribution systems to support increased power capacity and grid stability.
